Katie, the passionate force behind the stunning 1993 Toyota Supra build, is more than just a car enthusiast—she’s a dedicated member of the automotive community. With a deep love for the MKIV Supra, Katie has poured countless hours and immeasurable effort into transforming her Supra into a machine that not only commands attention but also represents her unique vision. The Supra, boasting an impressive 1150whp and a sleek, custom finish, is a testament to her commitment to both performance and aesthetics.
Katie's journey with the Supra began as a quest for something different, something that stood out from the crowd. She didn’t want just another white Supra with polished wheels and an oversized turbo; she wanted a car that truly reflected her personality and passion. Over time, what started as a simple street car evolved into a powerful, show-stopping build that continues to garner admiration at major automotive events. For Katie, the Supra isn’t just about horsepower and torque; it’s about the community she’s built around it and the friendships forged through a shared love for one of the most iconic cars ever made.
Power and Performance: The Heart of the Beast
This Supra is a powerhouse, producing an astonishing 1150whp and 889ft-lbs of torque. Let’s take a closer look at the modifications that make this car a force to be reckoned with:
- Catch Can: Powerhouse Racing XTM Breather Tank / Catch Can
- Radiator: Mishimoto
- Hoses: PHR Race -20AN Hose Kit for maximum cooling efficiency
- Boost Solenoid: Turbosmart 4 port
- Exhaust: HKS Ti-Race 4in, providing both performance and a menacing sound
- Exhaust Manifold: FBM

- Wastegate: Turbosmart GenV HyperGate45, offering precise boost control
- Pulleys: PHR Billet Aluminum Pulley Set
- Engine Dress Up: PHR ABS Delete Kit
Fueling the Fire
With great power comes the need for a robust fueling system, and this Supra doesn’t disappoint:
- Coil Packs: Haltech R35
- Fuel Injectors: Injector Dynamics 2000cc
- Fuel Pumps: Triple Walbro setup, ensuring consistent fuel delivery
- Intake Manifold: Plazmaman billet, coupled with a Plazmaman 85mm throttle body
Precision Engineering: The Engine Build
The heart of this Supra is an FBM 3.0 engine block, topped with an FBM Stage 2 cylinder head. Complementing this setup are Brian Crower Stage 3 Race Specification 272/272 cams, allowing the engine to breathe freely at high RPMs. Power is transferred to the wheels through a Clutch Masters FX1000 twin-disc clutch and the bulletproof Toyota V160 transmission.
A Perfect Blend of Technology and Craftsmanship
Engine management is handled by a Haltech Elite 2500, with a fully terminated Haltech Elite 2500 2JZ harness. The Haltech CAN 8 button (2x4) keypad ensures easy access to essential controls, while a Haltech WB1 Bosch single-channel wideband provides precise air-fuel ratio monitoring. The attention to detail extends to every corner of the build, from the PHR ABS delete to the PHR Billet Aluminum Pulley Set.
Exterior and Suspension: Form Meets Function
On the outside, this Supra turns heads with a Varis carbon fiber hood, supported by a PHR Gas Strut Hood Lift Support Kit. The RPG rear spoiler and Titan Motorsports bolt-in roll bar add both style and safety. The Supra sits on Import Drag Solutions front and rear PRO Drag shocks, with Toyo R888 tires (265/35-18 front, 315/35-17 rear) mounted on CCW D110 wheels (18x9.5 front, 17x11.5 rear). Induction Performance upper control arms and anti-roll bar complete the suspension setup, ensuring this Supra handles as well as it accelerates.
The Owner’s Perspective: A Love Affair with the MKIV Supra
When asked what she loves most about her Supra, the owner had a hard time choosing. “Honestly, everything,” she says. “But if you know me, you’d probably say the paint. I’ve put a lot of time and effort into the paint on this car.” She also cherishes the connections she’s made through the MKIV Supra community, which she describes as “hands down the best community I’ve been a part of.”
However, not everything is perfect. “The fact that it’s a targa top,” she admits. “I personally think they look funny when you take the top off.”
A Journey of Purpose and Passion
This build started with no specific purpose, but over the years, it evolved into a quest for the ultimate street car. “The power just kept going up,” she explains. “It’s now a street car, show car, and something I enjoy sharing with others.”
Her inspiration? “To be a little different than your typical MKIV Supra,” she says. “I wanted something unique, not just another white Supra on polished CCW classics with a turbo that’s too big.”
Looking to the Future
The journey with this Supra is far from over. Future plans include continuing to collaborate with top-tier companies like Clutch Masters, Haltech, Precision, and RPG, and showcasing the car at major events like SEMA.
