PHR Power Steering Cooler Installation

Remove the left hand side headlight.

Attach the mounting bracket to the end of the cooler without the fittins like shown. You should not tighten the bolt yet.

Remove this bolt. You will use this location for mounting the cooler. It will bolt directly to this location and will not use a bracket on this end.

Put the cooler in location. You can use the bolt on the fender side, but on the frame side, it will not be able to be bolted down yet. Don't tighten any bolts yet. You are just locating it at this point so you know where to drill holes.

Mark the location of your holes. The Power steering bracket should be flush with the flange edge. You will be drilling through this flange and using bolt and nuts to bolt the bracket in place.

Using a 1/4 inch drill bit, drill two holes through the flange. After drilling the holes, be sure to deburr the holes on both top and bottom.

Protect the drill locations by painting any exposed metal. Nail polish can also be used here. The applicator brush makes it easy to get inside the holes, and it dries quickly.

Bolt the cooler into place and tighten all nuts and bolts.

Attach the 90 Degree side of the lines to the cooler. Route to the lines proper locations. The shorter line will run to the power steering rack. The longer line will route to the power steering reservoir. You will want to keep the lines together and route underneath the frame of the vehicle.

The shorter line with the straight hose end will attach to the provided banjo fitting. Using the factory bolt, you will attach this line to this location (THE UPPER PORT ON THE RACK). This image shows the left hand drive rack. If installing on a right hand drive vehicle, the same applies: use the upper port.

Don't forget the crush washers on the top and bottom of the banjo fitting.

The longer line will attach to the power steering reservoir. If using a factory power steering reservoir, you won't use the 90 degree hose end. Instead you will trim the hose to length and push onto the nipple coming from the side of the reservoir. We've shown a non-turbo reservoir here, but the same applies to the turbo version as well.

If using a PHR Billet Power Steering Reservoir, use the hose end to attach to the -6AN fitting coming from the side of the reservoir.

Be sure to use zip ties to keep the lines from moving where they should not be.
