PHR GS300 FMIC Installation

Gather all parts and tools, lay them out and make sure you have all tools needed. You’ll need a tool to remove some plastic clips, 10mm, 12mm, and a 8mm to tighten worm gears.

·         Remove bumper, foam support, and horns – This is pretty basic you’ll need the bumper out of the way to get everything. Remove and set to the side.

·         Clearance frame. You will need to clearance the frame a little to make room for the pipes to clear and make a couple of holes in the liner to get the pipes though.

·         Touch up paint. Touch up the paint on the metal to prevent rust.

·         Install FMIC. Install the top mounts of the brackets to the FMIC, leave everything slightly loose so you can manipulate. Slide the FMIC up from the bottom and hang it from the bolt. Loosely put on the black plastic nut and the bolt below it.

·         Add bottom FMIC mounts. Grab the other 2 brackets and necessary hardware and loosely install that on the bottom side of the fmic, slotted side on intercooler fixed bolt hole on chassis side.

·         Add couplers to FMIC. Put your hotside coupler on the turbo of the FMIC (2.5” - 3” if running sportsman, 3”- 3” if running H cover or gt42). Put your cold side 3”-3” coupler to the cold side, at this point I slip the worm gears over the couplers but leave them loose.

·        Mock up lower pipes and make holes in fender liner. Install the lower pipe for hot and cold side as pictured.

·         Install upper pipes. Install the upper pipes as pictured. The 45* coupler will fight you, be ready.

·         Wiggle everything into place. Now that all the pipes are on and couplers on wiggle things into place and get the alignment correct. Be wary of the cold side upper pipe clearance, its tight on that side and not a lot of clearance.

·         Install BOV. (optional)

·         Tighten the FMIC mount bolts. Once everything is settled in its position and youre happy with it start tightening the hardware. I typically start with the FMIC then work my way out from there.

·         Tighten the clamps on the couplers. Make sure all of your clamps are tight on the couplers, don’t want a boost leak!

·         Put horns back on. Reinstall horns, one can go back into the factory location, the other will need to be relocated.

·         Reinstall bumper. Reinstall foam support, bumper, and hook up all light connections.
